In between writing my novels I love going on journeys and writing travel features for newspapers and magazines. Today I got a lovely email from the Caribbean Tourism Organisation telling me that my feature about Havana, which was published in the Irish Mail on Sunday in May, has been shortlisted in the Best National Feature Category! I will be attending the ceremony in London on November 2nd at World Travel Market.
Lots of different tour companies send me information about their trips and they are all very appealing but this one in particular caught my eye this morning and left me thinking – What an amazing setting for a novel. A dream trip like this is the price of a small mortgage and way out of most people’s reach. But all of the places on the itinerary are on my bucket list and it would be amazing to see them all in this way. However I can always dream and start chipping them away one by one slowly over the next few years!
