It is one hundred years to the day since the Easter rising in 1916 and to commemorate this occasion children all over the country are raising flags in their schools in a show of national pride. I am very proud to be Irish and part of the circle of Irish writers who have spread their words around the globe. I recently attended the Texas Emerald Ball in Dallas as guest author and had the most wonderful time meeting people interested in Irish literature and culture. I had the great pleasure to meet the LT Governer Dan Patrick and his wife and celebrate Irish culture with fashion designer, Jacqueline Quinn and talented sister duo Sephira who entertained the crowd with their wonderful music. My dress was supplied by the fabulous Jennifer Rothwell, I’m a huge fan of her clothes and this dress was a big hit at the ball. You might have seen it before at the Oscars last year!
Rachel Gaffney who writes a column in Georgina Campbell’s online magazine and promotes all things Irish in Texas, hosted the ball in aid of the Ireland American Fund.
For the day that is in it I have compiled a book of short stories to celebrate and remember lives of Irish women over the last one hundred years and called the book ‘Tales of a Century’ 1916-2016. It is available on Amazon from today. I hope that you will enjoy.
Lots more articles being written and travels in the pipeline and I hope to have news very soon about my new novel
Lots of love and
Happy reading
